The one and the only one journey to the U.K

My trip to the U.K was just like a dream. Whenever I closed my eyes and think of my U.K trip, all the joyful and unforgettable memories just bubbled out without any signal. My entire story started in a day of July. When I first knew that I couldn¡¦t get the scholarship, I was totally frustrated and I was just like a balloon losing gas. I didn¡¦t have any energy for the following days but after a week, I suddenly received a call from my teacher, she said that I got the scholarship as the original boy isn¡¦t older than 14! I know that it is selfish to say this, but at that moment, I was really happy and my heart was beating in an uncontrollable rate.

Including me, there were still two F.5 students from our school and the other three students from a secondary school in Tin Shui Wai. When we had our first meeting, all of us were too shy and didn¡¦t speak much to each other. No one could imagine that the six of us could become good friends after the trip!

We stayed in Cambridge, a historical and beautiful city. A Chinese poet, Xu Zhimo once travelled to Cambridge and wrote a poem to describe the beautiful view there and expressed his sadness when leaving Cambridge. I felt exactly the same as him when I was leaving. We had our lessons there and we learnt a lot of things during the lessons. The education in the U.K and Hong Kong are very different. In the U.K, they prefer students to learn in a relaxing environment and they seldom give homework. While in Hong Kong, students face strict homework and a stressful environment. I enjoy studying there very much and going to school seemed to be the happiest thing in my trip.

I made lots of friends there; some of them come from Austria, Turkey and Russia. Different nationalities didn¡¦t stop us from getting to know each other and we treasured the time that we stayed together. Ekate is my best friend there. She is 15 years old and she comes from Russia. She is a very straight forward and active girl but she is also very careless. Whenever she walked past my desk, all my things would be knocked down by her. I often called her ¡¥Disaster¡¦ because.. she really was a disaster. She loves horse riding and taking selfie¡K oh no, I am starting to miss her again!

My host mum Yin, who came from Malaysia, has a 14 years old daughter called June. They were very nice and we lived together in harmony. Laughter always fills our house. Yin cooks very well and one of my favorite dishes is the sausage roll. They are crispy and delicious. They are so tasty that I can eat five of them at lunch! Yin was really friendly and I treated her as my second 'mother'. My roommate is a Japanese girl and her name is Shiori. She is a lovely girl and it is very easy for her to feel shy. She is at the same age as me but she looked more mature. She is also a love of beauty; she often spends a long time on tidying her look in the toilet.

On the first Saturday of my stay in England, the school decided to take us to London, the most popular and crowded city in England. I told Shiori to set the alarm clock but unfortunately, the alarm clock didn¡¦t ring and we were late! We got up at 9 o¡¦clock but the school bus to London are supposed to set off at eight thirty, first I decided to stay at home for that day but the teacher called and told us that they were still waiting! We quickly rushed out to the school and fortunately, the bus was still there. Lastly, I had a wonderful day there with my shopaholic friends. I think I would really regret a lot if I didn¡¦t go to London because of that faulty alarm clock.

When I came back to school, I started to share my experiences in the U.K to my schoolmates, it¡¦s fortunate to find out that students are all interested in our trip.

At last, I would like to thank the chance that the Wan Chai Rotary Club had given me. I really enjoyed my trip to the U.K. If students are feeling curious and want to know more about my trip, they are welcome to ask me anytime.
