Subject Description: |
The curriculum comprises three Areas of Study, namely “Self and Personal Development”, “Society and Culture” and “Science, Technology and the Environment”, They serve as platforms for the exploration of related issues, so that students can develop a more coherent understanding of the world and come to appreciate the connections among concepts. Six modules are developed and each of which is organized around a central relevant to the Area of Study, with key theme relevant to students’ live identified. These themes embody issues which are important to the students and society. The six modules, namely “Personal Development and Interpersonal Relationship”, “ Hong Kong Today”, “Modern China”, “Globalization” , “Public Health” and “ Energy Technology and the Environment”. Students are required to conduct an IES making use of the knowledge and perspectives gained from the three Areas of Study and extending them to new issues or contexts. |
